Khara Pathar - Giri Ganga - Kuppar Bugyal

Sitting on the edge of a meadow atop a hill, looking down at the breathtaking views of the scenic Pabbar valley and Himalayan ranges as far as the eye can see, is a rare experience. It's an opportunity to connect with nature, to speak to it in absolute silence. The only sound that breaks the stillness is the music composed by the wind whispering through the leaves of cedar and pine trees. There is no hustle and bustle of the crowded cities, only the "Sound of Nature." While listening to the trees breathe, the cold breeze touches the face and whispers in the ears - Respect, protect, and preserve this beautiful Godly creation for the generations to come. Let's not only enjoy this scenic beauty ourselves but pass on this precious gift to the future.  The few precious moments spent capturing the beautiful landscape in one's eyes, the Kuppar Bugyal , a highland meadow at a height of 3250m, are truly unforgettable. In November 2019, we embarked o

Nainital - Nathuakhan - Dhokaney - Mukteshwar

Looking for a place for stay a little away from hustle bustle of Nainital town I came to know about Nathuakhan, a quaint, beautiful small village. It was the month of April in 2019. We reached there in the afternoon. After reaching Nathuakhan I realized it was the best place to stay near Nainital. The hospitality of the staff at Family In The Hills camp was truly worth remembering. Spacious luxury tents, local food and a small hike to the nearby jungle in moonlight... everything was amazing.  Nathuakhan is around 35 - 40 KM from Nainital and perfect place for a family stay if someone is looking for a quite place. The nature, greenery, peace and view of snow clad Nanda Devi mountain are at best here.  To spend a day with family the facility manager suggested Dhokaney water fall. Its a beautiful water fall in a remote location in Dhokaney village and its not crowded around 30 KM from Nathuakhan. If you are a good confident driver then you can drive down from the main road to reach

Memories: Chopta - Tungnath trek

"Snow makes life difficult, sometimes worse, but if the child within you is still alive it can charm your heart. Waking up to a lovely view of snow all around was always charming in childhood and it still invokes that charm! Slowly falling fragile flakes of snow come together and transform the entire landscape to make everything look uniform. We humans can learn something from these tiny snowflakes coming together to bring a big change." (January 2017) An unplanned trip where we had planned for Shimla but headed to Chopta. The weather forecast for Chopta was for Snow. It was decided; we were heading to Chopta instead of Shimla not knowing that the experience was going to be probably a once in a lifetime for many of us. Packed our bags and left from our office at around 10 PM. The plan was to reach Chopta by next day afternoon, take rest and then start trekking to Chandrashila early in the morning, though we never reached Chandershila. "Tungnath is one of the highe
